September 2025  –  Now More Than Ever!

It’s been some time since we last penned a Newsletter. Since the last time, much has happened in the world regarding our brothers and sisters in Israel and Jews around the world. It is not an exaggeration to say that the world has become a very uncomfortable place for Hebrew Catholics, Messianic Jews, all Jews, and even some Catholics/Christians who support Israel and the Jewish people.

Now more than ever, Hebrew Catholics and Catholics who love the Jewish people and Israel find ourselves isolated in many circles, especially online. Let’s remember there are still millions of Catholics who love Israel and have not been taken in by the slanted media in condemning Israel and the Jewish people. But far too many have swallowed the mainstream media narrative, and this includes most of the Catholic media and even some leaders who just pick up stories from the main news feeds. I am trying to be charitable when I say that many are misinformed, but the reality is that too many come from a place of animosity toward Israel and the Jewish people.

We need to get our news from alternative sources online. If you are looking for alternative sources, then you can join the Association of Hebrew Catholics Facebook, Catholic Zionists Facebook, and the AHC-Learn about Hebrew Catholics Facebook. There you can find out some of the sources for our news and the people you can trust to get the real news from Israel and the world. And get tips on how to effectively combat the false narratives.

So, we need each other now more than ever. Recently, a new Hebrew Catholic who contacted us told us she was so happy to find the AHC and the havurah group because being a Hebrew Catholic is lonely. And I might add dangerous. When we speak up against the narrative of “evil” Israel, we are often attacked and vilified. Since we are spread throughout the world, the only way we can stay in touch is via the internet.

The ideal place to meet is in a local havurah group with other like-minded friends, but sadly, since we are spread throughout the world, a good alternative is through Zoom meetings. We do have one active St. Edith Stein Havurah group that meets online once a month via Zoom. You can get the details and the Zoom link from Upcoming Events on the AHC web site. Our next meeting will be on Sept 12 at 7 pm Eastern Daylight Time in the US. Feel free to join us. If we grow too much larger, we can start a new group. We will also have a Rosh Hashanah celebration and a commemoration of Yom Kippur later in Sept and Oct., both of course in the light of Christ. Times will be announced.

The havurah is a group that prays, studies Scripture, and supports one another in our Jewish identity inside the Catholic Church. Please join us and also consider starting your own local group or Zoom group. If you are interested in starting one or joining a havurah in your area, please contact us, and we can help you because we need each other, now more than ever.

If you would like information about establishing a new havurah, or if you wish to receive the St. Edith Stein Havurah Newsletter for your havurah, please click here to contact us.

Shalom in Yeshua and Miriam,
