Alphonse Ratisbonne, an agnostic Jew, was infused with the Catholic faith by the Blessed Virgin in the Church of St. Andrea della Fratte in Rome, 20 January 1842. Declared a divine miracle on 3 June 1842 by Cardinal Patrizi, Vicar General of Pope Gregory XVI.
